According to TMZ, a source has revealed added details in the debacle between Lil Wayne and his label home, Cash Money Records. The publication reports that Birdman has no plans on releasing Lil Wayne from his contract.
Additionally, the source revealed that Birdman does plan to release Wayne’s Tha Carter V album, but on his own time. The Cash Money Records co-founder is also reportedly willing to go to court over his differences with Wayne.
Over the past few days, Lil Wayne has expressed his differences with his label via social media.
“To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it. This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation. I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy,” Lil Wayne said in a series of tweets sent on December 4.
Last week, the Young Money rapper sent out a vague tweet in regards to his status at Cash Money Records.
In addition to Lil Wayne’s tweet, his manager, Cortez Bryant revealed that things “are good” at the label while speaking with TMZ shortly after Wayne sent out his first series of tweets.
“We’re good,” Bryant said. “I’m smiling. What are you talking ‘bout? I wouldn’t be out in the club. We’re good. We’re super good. You see me.”
