While the new metric for Billboard’s Top 200 album rankings shook up the top albums list and raised questions about the inclusion of streaming in the new prevailing “total activity” count, the Hip Hop/R&B singles chart remains in place as a measure of units sold. Still, this week’s singles chart received its own shake-up with a complete Top 3 makeover.
Both Beyonce and Iggy Azalea saw their single sales aided by their respective album reissues this past week with both artists occupying two slots in the Top 10. Both Big Sean and ILOVEMAKONNEN’s recent singles dropped out of the Top 3 despite each having their own time at #1 in the past month.
Beyonce’s New Single Debuts At #1
One of two new Beyonce tracks from the singer’s recently rereleased 2013 album shot up to the top spot of the singles chart this week. The song, “7/11,” made its debut on the chart last week with 85,243 units sold in its first week and beat out the next best seller by nearly 20,000 singles.

Iggy Azalea Back In The Top 3 With “Beg For It”
After her collaboration with M0 dropped to #4 the previous week, Iggy Azalea returned to the Top 3 with “Beg For It” selling 68,137 last week. The track experienced a 42% sales increase the same week that Iggy’s debut album was reissued in a new deluxe revamp. The track has sold a total of 251,531 units as of Sunday (November 30) while Iggy’s bigger hit “Black Widow” inched closer to the double platinum milestone lower down the list.
Beyonce’s “Flawless” Jumps From #55 To #3
As Bey’s new single jumped to #1, one of the tracks from her original album release saw its own rise to #3 after sitting at #55 the previous week. “***Flawless,” which features Chimananda Ngozi, sold a total of 66,693 units last week for a total of 486,963 units. The song, which has been on the chart for a total of 50 weeks, experienced a 999% sales spike that fueled its more than 50-spot climb.
