Fans and the family of Aaliyah were initially skeptical of the forthcoming Lifetime version of a biopic about her life and last night, both parties took to the Internet and let the producers have it. One could say they received the slander of a lifetime (pun intended).

Timbaland, a longtime collaborator with the deceased singer posted numerous memes and videos on Instagram about the movie both to poke fun at it and to urge people not to watch it. Late in the night Timbo declared that Lifetime had “felt Timbo’s wrath.”

Creating an Aaliyah biopic is a touchy subject. Even Drake, who desired to make a posthumous album involving her endured enough public criticism to step back.
