The family of former Bad Boy Records artist Loon (now known as Amir Junaid Muhadith) has asked for help relieving both “financial and emotional” burdens his family has faced following the rapper’s arrest in 2011.
“Having shared some of the few issues the family has faced since Amir’s incarceration and with Amir been sentenced to 14years in Prison this month we turn to you to asist the family & children of Amir from this trail,” the family said in a letter posted on their FundRazr website. “We ask you today to relieve the financial and emotional burden the family is suffering….”
Loon’s family has raised a little over $11,000 since starting their FundRazr campaign in July of last year.

In 2011, Loon was arrested in Belgium after trying to enter the country after being indicted on drug trafficking charges in North Carolina years prior.
As a result of the arrest he was sentenced to 14 years in prison. In a recording made from prison last year, Loon detailed the specifics of the drug trafficking charges he was struck with.
“I also want to explain to you in detail, the detail of the charges I was charged with and the federal indictment from the Eastern District of North Carolina which was the conspiracy charge, which I was charged with,” Loon said in the recording. “Conspiring to possess with intent to distribute…If someone was to call you on the phone and make statements engaging in some form of illegal act, the moment that you answer that persons question or answer that person in general, automatically that falls underneath the umbrella of conspiracy. That means at that point you are conspiring to join that individual…to do something illegal.”
