“It was cool,” Jay Pharoah, who is readying a Rap mixtape called Resurrection, explains. “It’s all good. We had a good conversation. It was very cordial and nice. Kanye’s a cool guy. We’re chillin’. There’s no beef between us. It was a real good conversation…He was cool. He was like, ‘I appreciate what you did. I know what you’re up against. I think you did great.’ It was all good. It was no problem.”

West recently said he spoke with the comedian during a concert.

“I called Jay Pharoah right after the MTV [Video Music Awards],” West said. “I said, ‘I appreciate your show, but let me tell you about my story. Let me tell you about what I went through to get to that position.’”

West then explained that he had a problem with being spoofed, making note of racial issues.

“I ain’t making it a ‘Black or White thing’ right now, but I’m telling you if you see a Black guy anywhere, he had to work 12 times as hard,” West said. “So we ain’t gonna have no black comedians going onstage spoofing the people that’s working hard to open doors not only for Black people, but any creatives.”
