DMX, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Fabolous Performing At Def Jam 30th Anniversary Concert

Foxy Brown, Jhene Aiko, Onyx, Method Man and Redman are also among the artists slated to perform at Def Jams 30-year anniversary concert.

DMX, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, Foxy Brown, Jhene Aiko, Onyx, Method Man and Redman are among the artists set to perform at  Def Jam Recordings' 30th Anniversary Concert. The event is scheduled to take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on October 16. 

"I’m very excited to be a part of such a special announcement—Def Jam Recordings 30th Anniversary Concert at the iconic Barclays Center—which solidifies and continues the enduring mark the brand has made on pop culture," Steve Bartels, CEO of Def Jam Recordings, said in a press release. "As the birthplace of Hip Hop, there is no better place to celebrate such a cultural touchstone than in New York City itself.”

Def Jam Recordings was launched in 1984 by Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin in the latter’s New York University dorm room. The imprint’s roster soon included LL Cool J, Public Enemy and Slick Rick, among others.

More recently, the label's roster included Jay Z, Kanye West, Rihanna and Frank Ocean.

Tickets for Def Jam Recordings' 30th Anniversary Concert are slated to go on sale 10 am EST August 22 on Ticketmaster

    Man, If I was handling this I'd make sure: LL Cool J The Beastie Boys Slick Rick EPMD Public Enemy Method Man Redman DMX Ludacris Onyx Ghostface Red/Method Man Kanye West Jay Z Nas Common The Roots The Def Squad Foxy Brown Come one Def Jam, with the label of your legacy this could be a HugE concert mixing old and new. Hell even include Ja Rule lol.

    thats a pretty fucking weak lineup when you think of 30 years of Def Jam! No Run DMC? LL Cool J? Beastie Boys? Then how about Slick Rick, Dipset, Ghostface, Rihanna, Freeway, Cam'Ron, C-N-N, Cormega, Montell Jordan, M.O.P., Xzibit, Young Gunz? Where is Jay-Z and Young Jeezy? Let's hope they can announce someone bigger and more important artists than Rick Ross and 2 Chainz.
