A YG concert in Edmonton, Canada was cut short over the weekend when a handful of audience members began throwing bottles at the stage as seen in fan footage and a clip obtained by TMZ. The show, held at West Edmonton Mall in the Alberta capital, reportedly ended just 20 minutes after YG’s set began.

Earlier today, TMZ reported that the club promoter places blame for the fiasco on the rapper after he allegedly struggled with his performance due to vocal issues. According to TMZ, the promoter claims that “YG lost his voice 2 songs into his performance” before instructing his deejay to raise the volume to compensate. The promoter also claims that YG was the first to begin throwing bottles and adds that the My Krazy Life artist went as far as jumping into the crowd and punching a concertgoer in the face.

Footage obtained by TMZ shows YG helping a man in a wheelchair onto the stage before looking out into the crowd and jumping off the stage and into an altercation. The footage also shows at least one of YG’s supporting stage-cast pick up the bottles and throw them back into the crowd, apparently escalating the exchange.

The promoter added that the club may be “in danger of losing its license,” presumably as a function of the botched show. TMZ also cites the same source as opening up the possibility of legal action against YG for his part in the incident.

While he initially Tweeted a vague non-response to the breakdown—writing only, “Thatt shitt was fun”—YG admitted to losing his voice in a Tweet posted later the same day.

More recently, YG surprised fans as an unexpected opening act at Drake’s OVO Fest in Toronto on Sunday. Wearing a “Bompton” hat and Blue Jays jersey, YG rattled off verses from tracks like “We Dem Boyz” and “Don’t Tell ‘Em” before being joined by Drake himself onstage.
