With Kings of Leon and Skrillex simultaneously playing the final sets of the festival, Lollapalooza 2014 comes to a close tonight (August 3). The last day of the Chicago festival featured performances from Flosstradamus, Chromeo, Run The Jewels, Childish Gambino, Chance The Rapper, and more.
Jhene Aiko performed for the second time this year at Lollapalooza and provided the first appearance of the day on the Samsung Galaxy stage (despite the rain).
El-P and Killer Mike filled an hour-long slot on the Palladia stage in the afternoon. Their festival day appearance followed a quieter after-party performance the night before in Chicago. Having headlined himself alongside Big Boi on the second day of Lollapalooza, Andre 3000 showed support to his former protege. “Yup that’s #Andre3000,” Killer Mike wrote in an Instagram caption, “and yes he is a #RTJ fan too!”

Childish Gambino performed on the Bud Light stage immediately prior to Skrillex in the evening. Taking to the stage in an unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt, the former Community actor rapped tracks like “Heartbeat,” “Flight of the Navigator,” “Zealots of Stockholm,” and more. “Yo, it’s always been my dream to play Lollapalooza,” he said in between songs during his set (despite having performed at the festival in 2012).

Chance The Rapper collaborated with the festival and Red Bull TV to provide a live stream of his performance on his own site as well as on the shared dedicated site. Late in his set, he invited R. Kelly onto the stage and the singer performed snippets of “The World’s Greatest,” “Bump N’ Grind,” and “Ignition (Remix).”
Tonight isn’t performing for performance’s sake. It’s a Chicago thing. I love music and touring. But tonight it’s for Chicago
