50 Cent Addresses G-Unit Album, Mixtape & BMF Movie

50 Cent speaks on BMF film, says he didn't have to approach anyone about the film since they already had the rights to it.

Before G-Unit fans are treated to a studio album from the group later this year, a mixtape from the newly-reunited group will be released. 50 Cent spoke on both a mixtape and album from G-Unit during a recent interview with Hot 93.7’s Jenny Boom Boom.

According to the Queens rapper, an album from G-Unit will be released in either November or December of this year and will be preceded by a mixtape. He also spoke on the current dynamics of G-Unit as he revealed that any issues among group members were always aimed towards him and not Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, or Young Buck.

“G-Unit album will be late November, early December,” 50 Cent said in a video posted on HotNewHipHop.com. "Yeah, the mixtape is coming. We did that one last night…It feels good to just be back in work mode…They never had issues with each other. It’s always my issue with [one of them]…Well, when they have that point—that energy is pointed towards me, it feels weird because we rode my wave to the beach. You know what I’m saying?”

Among the numerous film projects 50 Cent is set to work on is one that will focus on the Black Mafia Family (BMF). While speaking with Jenny Boom Boom, 50 revealed that that particular project is one of 10 films he received funding for.

“It was a project that was brought to us by Lionsgate,” he said. “And with Barry and Stan and them over at Grindstone. They talked to us about it and then I said I’d actually do it. So, I put the BMF movie together and made sure it’s done properly…The rights to the actual film was already [packaged]. So, it’s like I was able to pick it up because somebody has to execute the finances connected to it. And that’s what I do. I raised $200 million. We broke it into 10 pictures. Sold the rest of the rights to Lionsgate.”

Talk of a mixtape and studio album from G-Unit comes weeks after the group’s surprise reunion at Hot 97 Summer Jam. Despite criticism of G-Unit from 50 Cent over the past few months, the rapper brought out Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck during his headlining performance during the music festival.

Raised 200 million lol Once the financers knew people like Bruce Willis, Deniro, Kilmer, etc. were attached to these films they agreed to front the money. 50 acting like his has been ass just made a call and got some foreign power players to part with that kind of money. Stop it Curtis. All those movies went to STV and flopped. Lionsgate lost money.

50 is garbage, he panders to white people to buy his music which is why he is the only supplsed street artist to constantly drop singles with white pop tarts like Skylar Grey and Justine Timberlake. Why do you think whites are so fond of him but Black folks dont even fuck with his music.

    • Anonymous

T.I. got a Skylar song too. Just like Lupe, B.o.B., Dr. Dre, Diddy,

"only supplsed street artist to constantly drop singles with white pop tarts like Skylar Grey and Justine Timberlake. " What about T.I? who also does songs with Robin Thicke and Iggy Azalea and any other pop artist who will give him the time.

No surprise that the one album 50 dropped with no white artist on it flopped, Animal Ambition was a financial disaster, all that money on Vids and promo, plus features, production, mixing, mastering, packaging, sample clearences, and artwork, after Itunes gets their 30 percent and Caroline and Universal get thier cut this nigga will be lucky to be 500, 000 in the hole just off his travel expenses he incurred during his promo campaign.

Ross never kept it true to hip-hop. He done songs with Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and other pop stars. 50 is a hip-hop artist, not a pop star. Nicki Minaj is a hiphop artist and he didn't do shit with lady gaga. 50 worked with Alicia keys, justin timberlake, and adam levine, all pop artists. No, it ain't. Not for you 50 groupie. 50 is indie. He has a distribution deal with Caroline. Caroline doesn't offer distribution deals. Ross will never make a stake in hip-hop history. He'll forever be known as a joke and a fake. To haters, not to fans.

    • Anonymous

Whatever you say. "His stake is 6 albums, and more press in a week than you get in a decade." That's not a stake at all. It's not impressive.

    • Anonymous

Doing a freestyle over a section of a song does not count as working with gaga.

"Nicki Minaj is a hiphop artist and he didn't do shit with lady gaga. 50 worked with Alicia keys, justin timberlake, and adam levine, all pop artists." Nicki is a pop artist and Ross did work with Gaga. Also, Alicia Keys is not a pop artist, she's an R&B artist. 50 has worked with tons of hip-hop artists. "Not for you 50 groupie." Not for anyone. "Caroline doesn't offer distribution deals." Yes, they do. "To haters, not to fans." No, to all hip-hop fans.

The 1st week sales of actual ambition, street king mortal, and the g unot album combined won't match mastermind's 1st week sales. Ross winning. Where are the L's for ross you talking about?

    • Anonymous

Also, Ross keeps the music true to hiphop while 50 makes songs with Justin Timberlake, Adam Levine, and Feminem. 50's a pop star and pop stars sell more today. Ross never kept it true to hip-hop. He done songs with Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and other pop stars. 50 is a hip-hop artist, not a pop star. "That's why its a victory for hiphop when mastermind out animal ambition." No, it ain't. "Also, 50 ain't indie. He's just signed to a small label called caroline records, part of Capitol Records." 50 is indie. He has a distribution deal with Caroline. "Ross doesn't need to go platinum in order to make a stake into hiphop history." Ross will never make a stake in hip-hop history. He'll forever be known as a joke and a fake.

When they write the book about hip-hop 50 and G-Unit will have a whole chapter about how they changed the entire landscape. Ross will get a few paragraphs about when hip-hop turned soft and fake.

Album sales don't reach as high today as 2003. Also, Ross keeps the music true to hiphop while 50 makes songs with Justin Timberlake, Adam Levine, and Feminem. 50's a pop star and pop stars sell more today. That's why its a victory for hiphop when mastermind out animal ambition. Also, 50 ain't indie. He's just signed to a small label called caroline records, part of Capitol Records.
