A tweet from Dr. Dre’s official Twitter account today (June 18) lists the release date for the forthcoming N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton.
“8/14/15” the Tweet says.
That date is release date for the film, according to a press release from Universal Pictures, which is releasing the movie.

Dr. Dre’s Twitter post also features a photo of Dr. Dre with fellow former N.W.A member Ice Cube, as well as Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Grey.
The trio is joined in the photo by Marcus Callendar, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Jason Mitchell, who are slated to portray Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Eazy-E, respectively, in the forthcoming film.
In February, Cube spoke with The Guardianand confirmed rumors that he wanted his son, O’Shea, to play him in the movie.

“Yes. I’ve been trying to get that pushed along,” Ice Cube said at the time. “Just wanna make sure that he’s the best man for the job.”
