50 Cent has addressed Justin Bieber, a singer who recently had two videos released where he is using the n-word and making other racist remarks.
“I don’t think he’s racist,” 50 Cent says in an interview with The Sun, according to the Daily Mail. “I don’t think he even knows who he is at this point. He’s so young. When you see people become huge stars real early, it’s tough for them.”
50 Cent elaborates on this, explaining why he feels it’s been difficult for Bieber.
“You have to grow up with all these expectations,” 50 says. “I think Justin’s still a baby and he’s lost.”
50 Cent also describes what it was like to hang out with Bieber, both friends of boxer Floyd Mayweather.
50 says Bieber was a “young kid who just wanted to chill.”
Recently, Mack Maine said Young Money would continue working with Justin Bieber. However, Bieber has also been critcized by artists. Lupe Fiasco recently wondered if Bieber would receive the same treatment as Donald Sterling, the former Los Angeles Clippers owner who was banned from the NBA for life for making racist remarks.
“I wonder if Justin Bieber is going to get the same treatment as Donald Sterling,” Fiasco said. “I don’t think he will. It’s an absurd twist of fate. Absurd thing. I guess that’s how the universe puts things out…It’ll test you with this. See how people react. Then you get somebody who we quote-unquote ‘like’ who says it and says it even more racist-ier. And we don’t bat an eyelash. It becomes this absurd thing. That’s why I don’t even deal with it…Whatever. I don’t really care either way. It’s just interesting to point out.”
