HipHopDX users were recently asked to rate the week’s top charting Hip Hop albums.
The Ranker list, which HipHopDX uses to assess reader responses below, calculates the votes based on a “thumbs up” and “thumbs down” system and it creates a list with the data users input. Ranker lists the albums from top to bottom, based on the total number of votes and regardless of how many thumbs up a particular album gets. The order of the albums featured on the lists fluctuates as votes are cast.
Michael Jackson’s Xscape topped this week’s list with 69 thumbs up and 24 thumbs down. This wasn’t the only Jackson album on the list. Michael Jackson’s Number Ones earned 50 thumbs up and 23 thumbs down.
John Legend’s Love In The Future came in third place with 37 thumbs up and 26 thumbs down. Pharrell’s G I R L arrived in fourth place with 31 thumbs up and 37 thumbs down.
Iggy Azalea landed in last place with 27 thumbs up and 47 thumbs down for The New Classic. While Iggy landed in last place, some readers celebrated the rapper. A reader named Fred said, “Iggy is doing great!!” Nevertheless, others criticized the emcee. An anonymous reader critiqued her with the following statement: “Iggy’s single just went platinum and it is terrible. She is like the white Nicki Minaj but from Australia and with weak bars.”
