Following a past altercation between Brooklyn rapper Jay Z and his sister-in-law Solange Knowles, 50 Cent spoke on the incident and revealed that he would never find himself in such a predicament.
While speaking on Solange’s attack on Jay Z in an elevator, during his appearance on Sirius XM’s Hip Hop Nation, 50 Cent also addressed Lil Mama running on stage during Jay Z and Alicia Keys’ performance during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
He says Lil Mama’s unexpected cameo was another encounter that would not have happened if he was in Jay Z’s place.

“Jay did the right thing in that situation,” 50 Cent said. “See, if he would have done anything. It all would have been inappropriate. And it would have changed how people perceive him based on that. And, you know, what’s interesting is I’m not sure I could actually stand it. I think that they would understand that if you do that then I don’t actually have the ability to not do that. That’s happening because they know he can’t sustain and watch. Well, you know a person’s temperament that you’re around. You don’t actually—Lil Mama’s walking on the stage. She feels that comfortable with Jay [that] she’ll do that. If I was there she wouldn’t walk on stage with me.”
50 Cent later spoke on the payoff that comes with releasing an album independently. According to the Queens lyricist, if his upcoming album was “a dud” he’d still make $3 million.
“I think the climate has changed so dramatically that it’ll pay off…If the shit was a dud I’d make $3 million. So, it’s like follow me. I’m not even going fast,” he said.

Lastly, the Queens rapper addressed the ongoing feud between himself and the mother of his oldest son. He revealed that she lacks responsibility and isn’t fully aware of the fact that her child support will soon come to an end.
“It’s no responsibility connected to the things she actually does,” the rapper said. “And she doesn’t mind that he asks me for something that she knows I’m gonna say ‘I’m not getting you 50 pairs of sneakers.’ Like I don’t have 50 pairs of sneakers that I value…I’m more conscious of child support being over than she is. And she’s like ‘I don’t know. I was thinking about I wanted to do one of those—like a store’…That’s when I realized that he told her everything that I actually said to him. And that she’s waiting for me to actually put that [together] so she can have it. And it just killed it for me…That girl’s a mistake I made a long time ago.”
Most recently, 50 Cent made headlines when he was not present at his son’s high school graduation. He addressed the matter directly during an appearance on BET’s “106 & Park,” stating that he didn’t “need an explanation” for his absence.
