Rappers Rick Ross and 2 Chainz escorted boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to his weigh-in on Friday (May 2) according to a recently posted Billboard article. Billboard reports that Mayweather entered the MGM Grand Garden Arena accompanied by DJ Drama’s 2 Chainz featuring single “My Moment.”

For fight-night itself, Mayweather walked to the ring escorted by a live performance by Lil Wayne and was also accompanied by Justin Bieber. Lil Wayne used the occasion as the live debut of his new Carter V single “Believe Me” after hinting at a surprise via Twitter.

Earlier this week, Floyd Mayweather posted a short clip of Wayne and Drake working on the planned release. A short video of Mayweather’s entrance last night is available below.

Mayweather took to Twitter to thank Rick Ross and 2 Chainz for their support leading up to the match.

Rick Ross also posted a picture on Twitter of himself with Mayweather before last night’s fight.

Last night (May 3), Mayweather fought Argentinian boxer Marcos Maidana and won in a majority decision after a twelve-round bout. The victory maintains Mayweather’s undefeated professional streak and pushes his career record to 46-0 in that arena. According to Fox News, Maidana threw considerably more punches but landed marginally less than his opponent.

“It was a tough, competitive fight,” Mayweather said. “I normally like to go out there and box and move. But he put pressure on me. I wanted to give the fans what they wanted to see so I stood and fought him.”

“I think I won the fight,” Maidana said according to Fox News. “He didn’t fight like a man.”

During and following the bout, many rappers took to their Twitter accounts to react to the decision and respond to fans about the fight.

Following his victory, Mayweather posted a photo of himself alongside Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber.
