After last week saw 50 Cent’sChase The Paper” top the list, this week DJ Khaled released a Jay Z-assisted track he hinted at last month. Big K.R.I.T. takes an aggressive stance on the lead single from his planned sophomore album that lands him at the #2 spot. A very short clip of Lil Wayne and Drake in the studio apparently recording pieces of Wayne’s Tha Carter V also climbed up the list and into the Top 3 after other publicity earlier in the week.

50 Cent’s Kidd Kidd featuring “Everytime I Come Around,” yet another piece of his Animal Ambition release puzzle, featured at #4 directly ahead of a surprise single from Bas and J. Cole. Kurupt, ScHoolboy Q, Problem, and Bad Lucc gave fans “Drop That Bitch” and Chance the Rapper celebrated the one-year anniversary of his Acid Rap mixtape with “I Am Very Lonely.” The Roots also unveiled the second single to their planned And Then You Shoot Your Cousin album, this time with an appearance from R&B singer Raheem DeVaughn.

DJ Khaled Claims Summer With “They Don’t Love You No More”

“Every summer’s mine,” DJ Khaled said in a MTV News earlier this week. “I’m the king of the anthems. It’s been seven summers. Well now, it’s gonna be eight summers. Summer’s mine, man. Straight up.” With that in mind, Khaled enlisted a posse of Jay Z, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, and French Montana for his summer-ready “They Don’t Love You No More.”

While the song has gained traction of its own, Khaled also made the news for the track after being delivered a cease and desist letter stemming from apparently borrowing the single’s artwork concept from a mixtape release by rapper Kolley.

Big K.R.I.T. Stands Tall On “Mt. Olympus”

With a direct reference to last year’s “Control” verse by Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T. used up a long first verse to address the Hip Hop industry and “all this propaganda.” Apparently serving as K.R.I.T.’s first single from his sophomore release, Cadillactica, K.R.I.T. waited for his 500,000th Twitter follower to finally unveil the track.

“Rap shit ‘bout as real as Santa / Now I’m lyrical all of the sudden / Well last year they claim they ain’t understand me,” K.R.I.T. spits on the song’s first verse. On the second verse, K.R.I.T. talks himself up as a bit more than just a rapper. “Hope the hook wasn’t too simple / Either way nigga, I wrote it / Yes I made the beat, yes I mixed the track / I am far from wack, you a one-trick pony.”

Lil Wayne & Drake Filmed In Studio Recording Tha Carter V

Even though the clip is very short, this week saw a quick start to promo for what Wayne claims will be his final solo album. “I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes, and it’s definitely the final Carter album,” Lil Wayne said in March. “It’s the final Carter album. It’s stopping at five. I didn’t smile when I said it.”

Posted by Floyd Mayweather on Instagram, the 15-second clip finds Lil Wayne and Drake zoning out to a beat in the studio. The Mayweather sponsored social media post was only the second from an athlete on Wayne’s behalf this week with Kobe Bryan posting an image to his own Instagram account apparently showing off promo art for the album.
