Meek Mill Loses Civil-Suit Against Philadelphia Police, Says He'll "Move"

Meek Mill: "I'm not surprised...Just let me move away from here ...I just wanna get this money...And take care of my family."

Meek Mill says he lost the civil-suit he filed against Philadelphia police.

"I'm not surprised...Just let me move away from here ...I just wanna get this money..And take care of my family! I sued they said I'm wrong," Meek says in a Twitter update.

As reported yesterday (May 1), Meek testified against police officials in the city of Philadelphia over what he feels was an improper arrest based on race. "In neighborhoods like where I come from, four Black males in a car, ... we're always being asked to be searched," Meek Mill testified. "All I was doing that night was going to work and doing what I had to do."

Mill was suing Philadelphia over the 2012 incident in which he says he was pulled over and told that law enforcement officials smelled marijuana in his car. They searched his vehicle and handcuffed the rapper for refusing a search of his automobile. No drugs were found in the car after a search was conducted. Mill has said the incident cost him money and that it affected his career negatively.

Mill is gearing up for the release of his sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Moneywhich is scheduled to be released this year.

I thought he was the king of Philly? Why doesn't Meek rap about needing off duty cops from Florida to protect him in his own city?

  • The Illusionist

I always hear Meek rapping about his goons and shooters but he never mentions his off duty narcotics officer bodyguard from Florida in any of his songs, I wonder why not?

Meek's lawyer should have told him that was a terrible idea but I can't blame him if he didn't. Probably let the nigga think he had a chance just so he could get those legal fees.

Driving While Black, On the flip side Meek is rich and succesful and living his dreams, he travels the world, rides jets, pushes the finest rides and is doing what he loves so the lawsuit did more to bring awareness to the issue than it did to add money to his bank account.

One of the whites is fascinated tbat rapprts have security, one of them is unaware that most of the elite security detail that entdttsi ets use are Law Enforcement who moonlight as security when they are off duty.

Wow, compare the comments on here from white people and then look at the comments from our own people on Twitter. Complete difference. I guess we see issues of racial profiling differently than them which is why we wont win with these white people on the jury.

    • Anonymous

Would I be wrong in thinking that Meek Mill's lawyer would have been apart of the jury selection? That's how it goes up here. You need a better excuse than a few white jurors because they weren't all black.

he might have stood a chance if he was an educated black man and not an ex-con with drug and gun charges on his rap sheet.

So, his twitter icon or whatever the fuck it's called is a picture of Rick Ross? Wow, that's a whole new level of being on someone's dick. These new rapper are FUCKIN' CORNY. I don't care if I sound like a disgruntled 'old school' rap fan. Meek Mill, French Montana, Rick Ross, Drake...these niggas just give me the fuckin' creeps. There's something repulsive about 'em that I can't put my finger on, but I hate 'em. I know it's cliche to say this by now, but I really wouldn't be surprised if some of these dudes are undercover cops. Let's face it, rap IS organized crime, and why wouldn't they have rappers in there to infiltrate these gangs? There's something about 'em that's not right. They just don't feel genuine or 'real'. Like they're fuckin' cyborgs or somethin'.

When Meek got pulled over he had an off duty narcotics officer from Florida as one of 3 people with him.... take from that what you will...

Moving is not going to help you nigga. Cops are the same in every city. Better move to Miami where Ross has police connections.

  • Not Impressed

This is why rappers should be careful claiming cities and states. You have to remember that at the end of the day, you're still black you will always be treated accordingly. The police hate you the same way they would hate a black out of towner. All this "king of my city" talk needs to die. I hope after this he stops rapping about Philly. I'm not impressed

  • Meek Mill Loves Cops From Flordia

"Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill lost his civil-rights case against city police Thursday over a 10-hour traffic stop that he called racially motivated. Mill, who trying to catch a flight to Atlanta to launch his debut album, was instead handcuffed and detained on Halloween night 2012 with his entourage: an Atlantic Records executive, an off-duty police officer and his cousin. "They ain't from where I'm from," Mill said softly of the jury after they reached their decision. "I (don't) really expect them to understand what I go through." (ABC Local) ""Williams refused to let them search it. So, the rapper and his passengers, including an off-duty narcotics investigator from Florida and a senior vice president at the Warner Bros. record label, were placed in handcuffs and held until officers could obtain a search warrant.""
