After two weekends and six full dates of live music, the Coachella music festival in Indio, California winds to a close tonight (April 20). Today’s performances included appearances from Little Dragon and Flosstradamus.
Chance The Rapper’s scheduled performance was cancelled earlier today due to the rapper’s falling ill and needing to be hospitalized according to a statement released by his management. "Chance fell ill on Friday night & was admitted to the hospital today," they reported in a statement released via the artist's Twitter page.
Earlier this weekend OutKast returned to the festival for a second appearance and featured a cameo performance from Killer Mike. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter earlier in the week, Big Boi explained the duo’s altered live set. "It might be slightly different,” he said before Friday night’s performance. “What happened was our set got cut by like five songs. We had to cut 'Player's Ball' and 'Chronomentrophobia' because of the time constraints. But there's probably a couple songs [fans] didn't hear that they're gonna hear this time."
The festival's second day also featured another cameo-driven set from Pharrell Williams. After inviting Gwen Stefani and Snoop Dogg out on stage during the first weekend, Billboard reports that last night Pharrell was joined by an ensemble of former collaborators including T.I., Pusha T, Usher, and Jay Z. A short clip of Jay Z’s cameo is available below.
