This week, Pharrell’s G  I  R  L continues its success as it climbs back into the Billboard Top 200 albums chart’s Top 2. Meanwhile, YG’s My Krazy Life, Rick Ross’s Mastermind and Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 drop to the bottom of the chart’s Top 20. 

Elsewhere on the chart, TDE singer SZA makes her debut with Z, a project that earned the Top Dawg Ent. artist a #39 placement. SZA’s Z, which is available to stream here, sold 6,980 copies in its first week of availability. 

Pharrell’s G  I  R  L Climbs To #2

Pharrell’sG  I  R  L continues its success on the Billboart Top 200 Albums chart. The project’s sales had an 18 percent increase from 24,808 last week to 29,385 this week. As a result, Pharrell’s most recent album went from #9 to #2 in seven days. G  I  R  L has sold 271,518 units overall. This week, Pharrell made headlines when he shed tears of joy while appearing on Oprah Prime. During the episode, P viewed a video of many people from across the globe dancing to “Happy.” “It’s overwhelming because it’s like, I love what I do and I just appreciate the fact that people have believed in me for so long, that I could make it to this point, to feel that,” Pharrell said in the interview.

YG’s My Krazy Life Falls To #18

YG’s My Krazy Life didn’t have the same success as Pharrell’s G  I  R  L. Instead, My Krazy Life sold 11,741 copies this week, a 29 percent decrease from 16,437 units last week. This helped drop the album from #16 to #18. Overall, YG’s album has sold 112,029 copies. Yesterday (April 15), Nas named YG one of the rappers he listens to in the Queensbridge emcee’s Reddit AMA session. 

Rick Ross’ Mastermind & Eminem’s MMLP2 Fall To #19 & #20

Rick Ross’ Mastermind follows My Krazy Life at #19 on the chart this week and Eminem is right behind both at #20 with The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Mastermind sold 11,6000 copies this week while Eminem’s MMLP2 sold 12,857 units. Both experienced drops with Mastermind’s sales decreasing by 24 percent and MMLP2’s sales decreasing by 12 percent. Nevertheless, Rick Ross’ most recent project has sold 301,525 units overall while Eminem’s latest album release has sold 2,053,107 copies in total.
