Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie was released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola a little less than two weeks ago and already the Southern wordsmith is 35 percent finished with his next studio album. Boosie made that particular revelation and also offered a brief update on the project during a recent interview with Cleveland, Ohio-based radio station Z107.9.

In addition to revealing that the album is 35 percent finished, Boosie rattled down a list of artists who will likely appear on the project. Among the artists mentioned were Atlanta rapsters 2 Chainz and T.I. and Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.

“I’ve been in the studio every night, all night,” Boosie said. “Except first night I came home. So, man, I’m ‘bout 35 percent finished with my album already. And we working, man. Every night, every day. From five in the evening to five in the morning. That’s where I’m at…I sent T.I. a record last night. T.I. got on it. I sent 2 Chainz a record last night. 2 Chainz got on it…We gon’ put Justin Bieber on the album.”

Although Boosie has already sent records to both 2 Chainz and T.I., in a past interview, he revealed that he’s open to collaborations with anyone in the music industry.

After speaking on his currently untitled album, the Trill Entertainment emcee offered a few words of advice to the youth. He advised them to stay in school and warned of the consequences of life in the streets.

“Try to stay in school, man. Cause these streets—These streets, you going to prison,” he said. “That’s just a fact. You know? I don’t care how good you get in doing what you doing, if it’s part of the streets you going to prison. I want ‘em to chase they dreams also. So, I just want them to stay positive and stay around positive people…I hope to tell them to learn from they mistakes when that do happen. Cause when you do that it make you a better person.”

Lil Boosie was released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary on March 5 after serving nearly five years on drug charges.

His release from prison was followed by the Boosie Speaks press conference. During the press conference, Boosie discussed his time spent in prison, his place in the rap game, and his plans to releaseBoosie The Movie.

“Well, I wrote my own movie, Boosie The Movie. I might shop it, but I’m probably gonna get my own money and do it myself and I’m gonna try to put it in theaters cause it ain’t no movie like this movie. This the real life story,” Boosie said.
