2 Chainz knows that Tech N9ne is an independent artist, but he doesn’t view him as such.
“To me, this nigga major,” 2 Chainz says in a video taken from the Atlanta rapper’s recent show at The Midland Theater in Kansas City that was posted on Strange Music Inc’s YouTube page. “You already know I fuck with Tech N9ne. I know what he doing. I know how he getting’ money. I know how he keeping it humble. So it’s a blessing, you know, every time I come to the city, for a nigga like him, who be having crazy shows, to check out my show.”
Earlier this month, 2 Chainz appeared on MTV’s Rap Fix and praised Tech N9ne’s skill on the mic.

“That boy can rap, man,” 2 Chainz said during the show. “When I first did the cypher for the [2011 BET Hip Hop Awards]…I’m like, ‘Who gon’ be in the cypher?’ I promise to God, [Ludacris] said, ‘Busta Rhymes, Tech N9ne.’ All I was thinkin’ was Luda, Busta Rhymes and this fool – they gon’ be tongue twistin’ to see who can rap the fastest. But God worked it out where he got rid of [Tech].”
Tech N9ne performed in a different cypher for the Award Show, one that included Kendrick Lamar.
