Days after posting a video on YouTube where he called out former labelmates Baby, Lil Wayne and Mannie Fresh, New Orleans rapper Turk has clarified comments he made in the nearly two-minute long video. While speaking with Prezident Bejda of UGS Radio, Turk says he doesn’t have any beef with the artists he mentioned and is instead focused on his own career.
The former Cash Money artist revealed that no one has contacted him since the release of his video, which was published November 5, and revealed that it was bloggers who made it seem that he had issues with Lil Wayne, Baby and other artists mentioned in the video. He later confirmed that a Hot Boys reunion will not happen and referred to those who thought a reunion would take place as “misguided.”
“Nobody contacted me,” Turk said. “A lot of the bloggers they changed the title and tried to make it like I called ‘em out and I was beefing with ‘em. It wasn’t none of that. It just was a—me just expressing how I felt about the situation. You know like we brothers, you know what I’m saying? I just, man, something just told me just make the tape. And I ain’t did it for no publicity or nothing. I just, I wanted them to see. I wanted them to see. I wanted the world to see what it really was and what it really wasn’t. A whole lot of stuff, man, I hold in and I don’t talk about it, I don’t expose it, but I felt like that was the last straw. And somebody other than me needed to know how his family is. And his family is dysfunctional. And a lot of people’s hopes are up high about a Hot Boy reunion. About this, about that, a lot of people have been misguided…I want everybody to know that it ain’t no beef. I still got love for them brothers. I’m just moving forward without them. I’m doing me now…It’s no longer a Hot Boy reunion. Not in my eyesight. That ain’t gonna even happen.”

Turk Says He And J. Prince Have A Mutual Respect For One Another
Currently signed to the Houston-based Rap-A-Lot Records, Turk commended those at his new label home, specifically the label’s founder, James Prince.
“Houston was like a second home to me anyway,” said the rapper. “Me and J. Prince, man, we got a history together. When I was signed with Koch Records, I went to Rap-A-Lot studios and I recorded like four, five songs like back to back. And at the time I was signed with Koch Records, you know what I’m saying? So, I couldn’t really do nothing at the time, but it was like God was showing me then that this was the place where I’m gon’ be. You know? They always showed that Southern hospitality, that respect. And that’s what I’m about. You know what I’m saying? And respecting every man. Every man must respect another man and that’s what J. Prince give. You hear all these crazy rumors and this and that. From what I see as a man, I respect the man and the man respect me. That’s a good person to do business with…We respect each other as men.”

Turk Speaks On His Father’s Death
Turk’s interview with UGS Radio and the release of his YouTube video comes just weeks after the passing of the rapper’s father, Tab Virgil Sr. Virgil was killed in a hit-and-run accident late last month, and according to Turk, details surrounding his father’s death are scarce.
“From what I know, man, they say that car that hit him was going extremely fast,” Turk said. “They said that they didn’t have no camera footage even though they supposed to have cameras where he got so called hit at. They said they don’t have any evidence. They don’t know who hit my dad. A lot of people saying it was a cab driver. Some people saying it was Tom, Dick and Harry. Nobody know what happened. It’s just an unsolved case. Like somebody just killed my daddy and got away with it.”

Along with Lil Wayne, Juvenile and B.G., Turk was a member of the Cash Money Records group Hot Boys. The group broke up in the early 2000s and since that time, talk of a reunion has surfaced occasionally.
Following the disbanding of the group, Turk was sentenced to 10 years in prison following a shooting in Memphis, Tennessee. He was released in October 2012 and has since released two mixtapes, Blame It On The System and Louisianimalz Vol. 1.
