Cappadonna recently spoke about memories he has of Ol’ Dirty Bastard. One of the memories he talked about featured ODB taking The Notorious B.I.G.’s microphone.

“When Biggie was doing a show somewhere in Brooklyn, Biggie was on the mic,” Cappadonna told vladtv.com. “[Ol’ Dirty Bastard] took the mic from Biggie. Rest in peace, Biggie. Love you the most. Then Biggie started being his hype man. Biggie was so amped up, once Dirty started going in, Biggie forgot it was his show. He was on the side doing him…You know if that was anybody else, they would have got sandwiched, G.”

“Dirty was like, ‘I’m wearing this suit. I’m gettin’ up on the stage regardless,'” Capp said. “He was still respectful, though. Right? And he was presentable. He had the suit on.”

At the event, ODB took the microphone and spoke to the Grammy audience.

“I went and bought me an outfit today that costed a lot of money, today ’cause I figured that Wu-Tang was gonna win,” Ol’ Dirty said. “I don’t know how y’all see it, but when it comes to the children, Wu-Tang is for the children. We teach the children. Puffy is good, but Wu-Tang is the best.”

During his vladtv.com interview, Cappadonna also addressed that speech.

“That’s a statement that’s gonna live forever,” Capp said. “And we still here.”
