Upon unveiling his new television network, Revolt TV, Diddy spoke with bloomberg.com about his plans to own an NFL team.
“I love sports, but I’m more of an owner type of guy,” Diddy said. “It will happen. I will become the first African American majority owner, not having a small stake, but actually owning an NFL team. I think it’s time for that. A majority of the players that are in the NFL are African American but there are no African American owners. That’s one of my dreams.”
Diddy also spoke about watching Jay Z transition from Hip Hop to sports with Roc Nation’s management of several athletes including Robinson Cano and Kevin Durant. According to Diddy, he has no plans of managing athletes due to his plans to own a team.

“When I see my friend having a sports agency I support him,” Diddy said. “When I get the calls, ‘Oh, we need to do Bad Boy Sports.’ I’m like, ‘No, that’s not my lane. I stay in my lane. This is my lane I want to do.’ I’m just me. I do my own thing.”
Diddy also explained how his relationship with Jay Z is one of mutual respect.
“We’re definitely friends, but we definitely push each other,” Diddy said. “We’re stronger working together and sharing information together instead of divide-and-conquer. It’s what we’re doing together to change the world. We compare notes. We keep in touch and we make sure that we support each other.”

Diddy and Jay Z were at the top of Forbes’ Cash Kings 2013: The World’s 20 Highest-Paid Hip-Hop Artists list. Diddy hit #1 with earnings of approximately $50 million, according to forbes.com. Jay Z was at #2 with approximately $43 million earned.
