Ab-Soul made headlines when he announced his new album was close to being finalized. Though initially believed to be titled Black Lip Pastor, Ab-Soul has said that the album has no official title yet, though it has been turned in for mixing. In a recent interview, Soul discussed his upcoming project.

“It’s coming soon,” Soul said in an interview with hotnewhiphop.com. “We tryin’ to present in a real cool way. Everybody getting real creative with how they presenting their music, so we tryna sit down and come up with a cool little idea, too.”

During the interview, Soul also discussed lyrics from a Chuck Inglish selection, “Came Thru/Easily.” On the track, Ab-Soul refers to himself as Eazy-E. “That means Mac is Ice Cube,” Soul says on the selection.

“That was so wild for me to say that, right?” Ab-Soul said. “Mac Miller is Ice Cube? I’m sorry, Cube, if you took that disrespectful. I was just joking.”

Mac Miller has been a frequent collaborator with members of TDE. In September 2012, Miller spoke with HipHopDX about his bond with TDE and how it came about.

“I’ve been fans of them and all their projects that came out,” Miller said to HipHopDX. “Then, when we moved out here [Los Angeles], they just kind of came to the crib. [Ab-Soul] came to the crib and enjoyed himself and then [ScHoolboy] Q came through the crib so we just built a friendship. And we were just on tour with them so we were able to hang out every day.”

During his hotnewhiphop.com interview, Soul also spoke about his relationship with TDE’s new signee Isaiah Rashad

“He’s going through the TDE boot camp at the House of Pain right now,” Soul said. “I show him love. The House of Pain is located in Carson, in my hood. That’s where we all started. I help him out the same way that we were helped out.”
