Panic! At the Disco, a group whose new album, Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die, debuted at #2 in this week’s Top 200 Billboard charts, says that Hip Hop influenced its most recent release.
“There’s definitely a lot of Hip Hop influence in this record,” Disco frontman Brendon Urie said during a recent interview with Billboard. “Artists like A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar, their production, their lyrical style, just the way they go about making the music is really inspiring and I wanted to mimic that in a way.”
Urie said that Disco borrowed from Hip Hop for the group’s single “Miss Jackson.”

“A song like ‘Miss Jackson’ is definitely more of a Hip Hop vibe,” Urie said. “I love that that was the first single choice.”
Panic! At The Disco’s Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die, sold more than 83,000 units in its first week. Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz, which sold more than 271,000 units and debuted at #1. Drake landed at #3 with Nothing Was The Same, whichsold more than 82,000 units this week.
