With the successful first installment just months in the rear view, Justin Timberlake returns to the spotlight with two singles from The 20/20 Experience 2 Of 2 featuring Drake and Jay Z, respectively. Jadakiss, Sheek Louch and Styles P reunite for a freestyle over Drake’s recently released “Pound Cake,” while ahead of November’s Marshall Mathers LP 2 release fans get a look at never-before-seen Eminem footage that includes him performing on “Saturday Night Live” and hanging out backstage, among other things. ScHoolboy Q rounds out the list with a loose track for the patient fans waiting on Oxymoron.
Justin Timberlake Buzzes With Features From Drake And Jay Z
After yesterday’s (September 27) release, the R&B singer leads the pack with two songs from the second installment of his 20/20 Experience album. With both “Cabaret” and “Murder” Timberlake continues his successful run of heavyweight rap features. The Drake collaboration was hinted at prior to the album’s release; just late last month Timberlake remarked that “it would be a travesty if” the album didn’t feature the Toronto emcee given his “being so vocal about appreciating me as an artist” when interviewed by Sway Calloway. The song, which features signature production and adlibs from longtime collaborator Timbaland, is a sultry affair that finds Drake closing with a 24 bar verse. “We might fuck around and slip tonight / You’re Kryptonite, you should probably have a cape to throw on / On my Eddie Murphy Boomerang for ya / Got a bunch of old girls that I threw away for ya / I been in the gym doing two-a-days for ya / So I can lift ya up when I do the thang to ya.”

The Jay Z feature on “Murder” comes after the duo’s successful “Suit & Tie” collaboration from the first installment of the 20/20 Experience as well as Timberlake’s appearance on Jay’s hit “Holy Grail” (the pair also embarked on a short tour earlier this summer called the Legends of the Stadium Tour). “Murder,” which serves as the middle-point of the 20/20 Experience 2 Of 2, is also closed out with Jay Z’s verse and finds both artists on the subject of a woman. Jay, for his part, compares the subject of his verse to John Lennon’s infamous counterpart. “Yoko Ono, she got that Yoko Ono / You know that shit that made John Lennon go solo / Know that shit gotta be lethal / If that pussy broke up The Beatles / Chocha ruined pop culture.”
The LOX Repurpose A Drake Track For “Hood Cake”
While the original song, “Pound Cake,” serves as the closing number on Drake’s Nothing Was The Same album, the Yonkers hailing trio have just released a version of their own on top of the Boi-1da beat. In the face of the original, Styles P, Sheek Louch and Jadakiss bring the track around to the street with memories of drug dealing, street etiquette and their success as rappers. Styles P kicks off the track with a vivid memory of his life and rise as an emcee. “All I ever knew was kingpins and gangstas / Life start to change when you sitting around bankers / Investors, back when the Benz made the compressor / I compressed my weed and never lost the texture.” With Jadakiss’ verse holding down the middle of the track, Sheek Louch closes out the song with an acknowledgement of their collective wealth and a nod to former affiliate J-Hood. “I done made a millie, P and Kiss made a millie / Hood could of if he wasn’t acting silly / But no hard feelings / I ain’t even in the hood now, no more chilling / Chasing money, jumping off the tour bus posing for IG flicks / All around these chicks / I ain’t OG, it’s Rakim and Kane and them.”

Unreleased Footage Of Eminem Surfaces Ahead Of “Marshall Mathers LP 2”
The nearly 12-minute clip showcases an in-his-prime Marshall Mathers performing on the set of “SNL” alongside Kirsten Dunst as a host and accompanied by longtime friend and collaborator Proof. Among other clips there is also a glimpse into the studio, a backstage hangout with Paul Rosenberg and appearances from Xzibit and Bizarre of D12.
ScHoolboy Q Releases “Banger (MOSHPIT)” To Tide Fans Over Ahead Of “Oxymoron”
The charged up single from ScHoolboy Q is produced by The Renegades and ends up with the TDE emcee shouting out cities like Philadelphia, New York, Miami and Boston. In his second verse in particular, he raps with a threatening flair. “Off that alcohol that nozzle flammable / Beef I prey on my prayer react like animal / Pussy, I spit you like camel toe / My shoelaces matching my flannel / We be loading up ammo / Ya’ll be making them channels / Yellow tape by them candles.” Earlier this week HipHopDX reported that ScHoolboy Q has completed and submitted Oxymoron to TDE.
