During a recent interview discussing his upcoming album Extinction Level Event 2, Busta Rhymes said that fans can expect for the project to be released in November. When it drops, the album is slated to include appearances from several guests, including Eminem.
“I’ve got a six-minute record with Eminem that sounds like we are respectfully trying to battle each other in a way that you probably never heard us battle in our entire careers on a record.” Busta Rhymes said in an interview with XXL. “So it’s lot of real incredibly golden moments for us on this project.”
Busta Rhymes Says First Single “Thank You” Will Feature Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Q-Tip
In the interview, Busta also discussed his first single from the project, scheduled to be “Thank You,” a self-produced song that features Kanye West, Q-Tip and Lil Wayne.
“I definitely want to say the next single I’m getting ready to drop is a record called ‘Thank You’ that I produced myself,” Busta said. ”It features Kanye West, it features Lil Wayne, and it features Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest. That’s definitely going to be one of the more immediate, eventful moments that you are gonna be able to experience from this phenomenal body of work.”’
In August, Busta Rhymes spoke about his work uniting Lil Wayne and Kanye West.
“There’s been a lot of talk over the last year or two about conflict between G.O.O.D. Music and Young Money and Cash Money,” Busta Rhymes said in an interview with MTV. “I just wanted to put it to bed and create an eventful moment where me and [Lil] Wayne being Young Money/Cash Money on one team, Q-Tip and Kanye [West] be on another movement on G.O.O.D. Music, just showing that camaraderie and that alliance and just making it official on a real Hip Hop level.”
Busta released Extinction Level Event – The Final World Front in 1998. The album features such songs as “Gimme Some More,” “Do It To Death” and “Just Give It To Me Raw.”
