Oakland, California rapper Mistah F.A.B. released his latest mixtape “Hella Ratchet” today (August 27). This new solo project is hosted by the LA Leakers with guest performances by Iamsu!, Clyde Carson, E-40, Problem, Keak Da Sneak, LoveRance, J-Stalin and D-Lo, among others.
Mistah F.A.B., also known as Fabby Davis, Jr, is excited about the release. “I’m just happy to [create] feel good, fun music again,” F.A.B. said in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “I went through an emotional slump when my mother died and was using music as a ventilation chamber. But this project is that good old Fabby Davis, Jr my core fans have been missing.”
DJ SourMILK from the LA Leakers states, “For me, it’s important because F.A.B. is an OG. [He’s] been doing this forever and can really rap his ass off. Why wouldn’t you wanna align yourself with someone like that?”

After signing to Mac Dre’s Thizz Entertainment in 2004, F.A.B. emerged as a prominent member of the Bay Area’s Hyphy movement. He is best-known for his 2006 album, Son of a Pimp, which included tracks “Super Sic Wid it” and “New Oakland.” The video for his popular single “Ghost Ride It” included an altered version of the car and logo used in the movie Ghostbusters. In 2006, Columbia Pictures, which owns the rights to the Ghostbusters franchise, demanded the video be pulled from rotation on MTV. The song “Ghost Ride It” provided instructions on how to “ghost ride” while driving a car and references Patrick Shwayze, the star of the 1990 film Ghost.
