Chris Brown was sentenced to an additional 1,000 hours of community service and had his probation reinstated yesterday (August 16), according to TMZ.com.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney accused the singer of violating his probation in his 2009 Rihanna assault case by submitting phony community service reports, leading the judge to sentence Brown to more community service, according to the site.
Given the dispute over whether or not Brown actually did community service he was ordered to complete initially, the singer must now complete 1,440 hours of community service because he was not given any credit for the community work he may have already completed, TMZ says.

Using one example of what they said were Brown’s bogus service claims, the Los Angeles County District Attorney said that Brown said he was picking up trash in Virginia while he was actually on a private jet to Cancun, Mexico, TMZ reports.
In February, Bryan Norwood, Chief of the Richmond, Virginia Police Department, removed himself from his post after the Los Angeles County District Attorney claimed in a report that Norwood was involved in certifying Brown’s false community service documents.
Brown’s work must be must be supervised by L.A. County officials, according to TMZ. Brown has the option of doing highway cleanup, beach cleanup, probation alternative work services (PAWS) and graffiti removal in order to fulfill his obligations, TMZ says.

Brown also has to report to a probation officer within 48 hours of the ruling, TMZ reports. He will remain on probation until August 2014, according to TMZ.com.
In July, a judge revoked Chris Brown’s five-year probation stemming from his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna.
