Jay-Z said that he and Justin Timberlake are filming the video for "Holy Grail" in an interview today (August 2) with Los Angeles radio station Power 106.
"Yeah, yeah, we're shooting 'Holy Grail' right now, Justin and I," Jay-Z said.
Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake are currently on the "Legends of the Summer" tour. This has been a positive experience, Jay-Z said.
"It's surreal for me," Jay-Z said. "It's surreal on a couple of levels. One progression as far as me as a performer and also for the culture, for Hip Hop, two. And also, I'm a heavy sports fan and I grew up seeing events in these places. The last three days for me were Soldier Field, Candlestick Park and then Rose Bowl. I'm in those places like, 'What is going on right now? This is unbelievable.'"
Jay recalled a time when this wasn't possible.
"I take it back to '98 where I wanted to take out the 'Hard Knock Life Tour' and they were telling me that I couldn't take out rappers [that] I had to take out R&B acts just to play arenas," Jay said. "You fast-forward to now and being in stadiums, and doing two nights at Yankee Stadium, two nights in Boston and and playing the Rose Bowl. Come on, man."
Last month, Timbaland said that he has a song titled "Sinatra in the Sand," which also features Nas, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. Jay-Z confirmed that they are working on the song.
"It's a bit beyond a concept in Timbaland's mind because we started it but we need to get back in there to finish it," he said.
