Chris Brown is being sued for battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress by a 24-year-old woman who says that the singer shoved her to the ground last month at the Heat Ultra Lounge in Anaheim, California, according to TMZ.com. Deanna Gines says that she was injured during the fall, tearing ligaments in her right knee, the site reports. Gines’ lawsuit is seeking $25,000 minimum from Brown, even though she was initially only seeking an apology from Brown, TMZ.com says.
Gines recently called in to TMZ live. She said during the interview that the alleged assault started when a female Brown was with did not like where she was standing. “He pushed me full force with one of his hands,” she says. “His girlfriend had his other hand.”

When Gines is asked why, if she is injured and will need a medical procedure to repair her injury, would she accept an apology from Brown and not ask him to pay for her medical bills, Gines said, “I don’t feel comfortable answering that question.”
When the interviewers say that her response doesn’t add up, Gines says, “There’s a lot of stuff going around on the media that’s referring to [me as a] gold digger, that I’m trying to sue him and get rich and famous. That’s not what I’m trying to do at all. That’s not what I want to do. That’s not what I’m trying to do at all. That’s why I’m saying an apology, yes, that’s definitely what I want is an apology because if anything, yes, it hurt my knee physically and it also hurt emotionally at the same time. That isn’t OK and he just needs to know that it’s not OK to run around putting your hands on females, males, whoever just because of who you are. That’s not an OK thing for you to do. That’s not something that someone of your standards should be promoting to other kids, people that look up to you.”
A tweet that Brown allegedly sent out about the incident does not appear in his timeline, but several sites reported that he said, “I didn’t do anything” in the post.

On June 24, the owner of the Heat Ultra Lounge allegedly contacted TMZ.com to clear Brown’s name. The owner says that Gines was asked by security to leave the club. Further, he says that police were called due to her disruption. “Heat staff and security did what they had to do,” said the man, whose name was not printed in the TMZ.com story. “[Chris Brown] was a complete gentleman.”
After the incident, Gines said that wanted an apology from Brown, not his money, according to TMZ.com. Brown did not apologize to Gines, TMZ.com says.
