A long time has passed since the days of Roc-A-Fella Records and Rocawear and a lot has changed.
Jay-Z recently released his newest album Magna Carta Holy Grail to critical acclaim and is one of the richest men in the music industry. Former business partner Dame Dash was recently hit with a $2.8 million tax lien and has been in debt by the millions for years.
Aside from their fallout from years back Dame Dash has fallen on hard times, mostly financial so when it came time to listen to Jay’s most recent release, it had to be difficult.

Dame recently posted a Vine of him listening to the album in the Lower East Side barbershop “Well Connected” and nodding his head. The caption of the post reads: “In the barber shop listening to jays new album….I can’t front… I still like hearing him pop shit cause I know he’s telling the truth…proud to be be a part of that..#bittersweet.”
Dash and Jay-Z had a fallout over Roc-A-Fella records in 2004 after Jay became president of Def Jam Records. Dame has been in hot water with his finances since.
Recently, Dame Dash was hit with a tax lien totaling $2,802,262.30. The bill is in regards to years 2005 and 2011. He currently owes millions in back taxes to the State of NY and NJ and says he’s lost multiple properties to foreclosure.
