Yesterday (July 4), SMACK/URL released their latest battle, one between Tsu Surf and Hollow Da Don. Drake and Kevin Durant took to Twitter soon after the Night of Main Events 3 battle dropped to debate about the winner of the match-up.

According to their Tweets, they had a difference of opinion. Kevin Durant, who attended the event, felt Tsu Surf won the battle. Drake, who has publicly supported Battle Rap several times, disagreed with Durant. He felt Hollow Da Don won in his return to the Ultimate Rap League’s stage.

Their tweets began when Drake told URL that Hollow won. Durant replied saying that Surf won, adding that it was a landslide victory with Surf winning all three rounds. Here are their cases for each battler.

On his end, Surf responded to Drake’s comments with his own tweet.

Hollow said that Surf told him he won a round. He later added that Joe Budden, who Surf is affiliated with, also told him he won a round.

The Joe Budden tweet is true. Budden expressed this, also mentioning Hollow’s Chris Webber line.

The Chris Webber line that is being referenced took place in Hollow’s second round. It references Surf’s legal troubles in Detroit and Chris Webber’s infamous “timeout” call when he played for the Michigan Wolverines. The battle, including the Chris Webber line, can be viewed below, courtesy of URL

URL’s Beasley spoke to HipHopDX about the battle event days before it took place. Hollow versus Surf was one of the most anticipated match-ups of the day and was the first released thus far.
