A concert which was to be held in celebration of Jay-Z’s 12th studio album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, will reportedly no longer take place next Monday (July 8). According to the New York Post , Jay-Z’s concert, which initially received the green light from the city, was to take place on top of the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City and would have aired later that day on “Late Show With Dave Letterman.”

While speaking to the New York Post, a source cited holiday-related “fireworks and terrorism” concerns as the reason behind the cancellation.

“The mayor’s office approved it, and then just like that, it got denied… It’s because of the holiday weekend. They were concerned about fireworks and terrorism,” the source revealed.
