In a 20-plus year career, longtime member of The Roots, Malik B has one released one solo project, 2006’s EP, Psychological. Not currently with the group, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania emcee announced this week his plans to unveil his full-length debut. The LP will be produced entirely by New Jersey native Mr. Green, who confirmed to HipHopDX this week that the album’s title and release date are still to be provided by the label.

Earlier this week, the pair released the video single to “Devil.”

Previously, Green has produced full-length albums by Outsidaz members Pacewon (The Only Color That Matters Is Green) and Young Zee (One Crazy Weekend). On each effort, the sampling musician shared billing. Although not a full-time member of The Roots at present, Malik appeared on 2006’s Game Theory and 2008’s Rising Down albums.

In recent years, Malik has formed The Beard Gang with fellow Philly emcees Freeway and Jakk Frost.
