Big K.R.I.T. Hints At Sophomore Album Title, Confirms Def Jam Involvement

When Cinematic Entertainment inked a deal with Sony Red late last summer, some speculated what that meant for the label’s flagship artist, Big K.R.I.T. The Meridian, Mississippi native had just released his debut album, Live From The Underground, two months in conjunction with Def Jam Records. The album was a Top 5 debut the week of release, and included contributions from label-mates 2 Chainz and Ludacris.

In an interview with Dead End Hip Hop, K.R.I.T. confirms that Def Jam will be home to his sophomore album. In doing so, the 2011 HipHopDX Producer Of The Year also alluded to the work’s title, claiming it’s plainly heard on his debut.

“Every album, I told you what the name of the next album was going to be,” K.R.I.T. said, referring to his acclaimed string of mixtapes since 2010 which include K.R.I.T Wuz Here, Return Of Forever, Forever N’ A Day and most recently, King Remembered In Time, along with his retail debut. “The name of my next album, on Def Jam [Records], is in the first song on Live From The Underground. It’s in the intro. Literally, in the first 30 seconds of [“LFU300MA”], I say what the name of the next project is.”
