Juicy J, along with Three 6 Mafia partner DJ Paul, helped UGK achieve their first #1 album in 2007. The Underground Kingz’ self-titled double album was backed by Juicy and Paul’s production on smash hit “International Player’s Anthem (I Choose You).” Famously, the main beat was re-used five years after it first appeared on Hypnotized Minds affiliate Project Pat’s album, Layin’ Da Smack Down (as “Choose U”).

While Juicy helped Pimp C and Bun B’s mainstream comeback, Pimp C is assisting Juicy’s own comeback, nearly five years after his tragic death from drug overdose. The late Port Arthur, Texas emcee/producer is a on the “Show Out (Remix),” a song which could appear on Stay Trippy. The LP is J’s first solo outing with Taylor Gang/Columbia Records.

Speaking with Sermon’s Domain, Juice explained how he worked with Pimp’s family to include him on this pivotal career moment. “I just reached out to Pimp C’s wife. She gave me the verse. I just synched it up with the track, and it [meshed] with the track.”

UGK, alongside Pat, also appeared on Three 6 Mafia’s 2000 crossover single, “Sippin’ On Syrup.” The Texas-to-Tennessee collaborators worked together throughout much of the 2000s, on charting albums such as Dirty Money and Last 2 Walk. As for this collab, Juicy noted. “When I do stuff, I like to do surprises.” He continued, “I just felt like doing a remix with Pimp C would be crazy…then I reached out to T.I., so it’s three legendary people on one song.”
