Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Alleges That Eazy-E's Cause Of Death Hurt His Legacy

Krayzie Bone and Bizzy Bone point out that Eazy-E wrongfully does not get the gangsta glory witnessed in the legacies of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G.

In preparations for their Rock The Bells tour reunion, Cleveland, Ohio multi-platinum group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is speaking a lot about their mentor. While performing, Bone will be joined by an original digitally projected version of Eazy-E, who rapped with them on "Foe The Love Of $." The quintet released their debut EP, Creepin' On Ah Come Up under Eazy-E's tutelage on the Compton, California native's Ruthless Records imprint. While Eazy would tragically die a year later after complications from the AIDS virus, the group remained a flagship act on his label until the early '00s. Their breakthrough 1995 hit "Crossroads," and especially its video single, was dedicated in part to their mentor.

Speaking with TMZ.com, the reunited members of Bone Thugs expressed disappointment that Eazy-E's legacy is not better preserved by fans. “[Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G.] died being known as gangsta heroes,” Krayzie Bone told the celebrity news site. “[Eazy-E] died from a disease, so many look at that differently.” Eazy-E is believed to have contracted the AIDS virus through unprotected sex shortly before his death. Some affiliates of the N.W.A. founders, including B.G. Knocc Out, have publicly disputed reports regarding Eazy's cause of death.

Bizzy Bone, who will be back with his band-mates after numerous hiatuses over the last decade, added, "Some people seem like they are afraid to commemorate him due to how he died. But Bone never once has, nor will, stop commemorating him.”

After some financial and label disputes in the past, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is working with Eazy's estate and widow, Tomica Wright on the authorized performance. Earlier this month, Kurupt told HipHopDX that Tha Dogg Pound is working on a collaborative album with their foes-turned-friends, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

Those same kids are cowards who hide behind a screen. Be a man not a mouse, and stop crying. It's so played out by now.

"Quote-Man's the type" All that nonsense because I stated a fact that Dre has had a better life than Eazy. Hey, you don't have to tell the world what kind of perverse things you do on the weekend. That's between you and God, half a man.

    • Anonymous

Man enough to tell you online you need mental help bitch. You're on here selling kids dreams, and those same kids even tell you to S T F U. Why do you continue? A mature 10 year old can tell you of course Dre made more money and has a better life than than Eazy, Eazy has been dead for years. BITCH.

They'd do better just to bring out an Eazy E hand puppet.

"He beat Eazy in life. Worth over a $100 mill and still going strong. Hasn't dropped Detox in 10 years, yet the slightest mention of it and the hip hop community is captivated. Whoever these real g's are you're referring to, believe me wanksta, they'd side with the dude making ridiculous cash, and with past hit albums to back it all up." ^ lol, look at Quote-Man advocating for male gold-diggers Spoken like a true money hungry, vicariously living, no integrity having bitch. Funny part is those same rich people can smell dirty leeching bitches like you a mile away. Quote-Man's the type that would let 10 rich men ejaculate in his rectum just to stand next to one, only to pick up the dry cleaning and watch the house while the cleaning service is there. He would run his mouth to his handful of friends on how much of a good life he lives because he "sided" with a rich person, but his mind is so screwed up because those ten men want seconds and thirds, that the only way he can justify his whorish, "let the crew hit it" existence, is to talk trash to people he thinks are lower than him. But he's the lowest of the low.

    50 Cent says wanksta.

  • Whorida

I kind of agree with them. If he was shot, he would be a hero. Getting shot is like a mixed blessing for rappers. I think another part was that Dre/Snoop got the best of Eazy because of Fuck Wit Dre Day. They had larger commercial backing from MTV and radio stations and Eazy didn't make radio friendly tracks for people to hear his side of the story. Everyone knew how Dre felt but Eazy was shit on by the public.

you mutts that say eazy wasn't good are the same ones that rock trinadid james and soulja boy and lil wayne no credibility

  • Drake best rapper alive

blame some1 else for your mishap pussy ass niggas need to own up that they became irrelevent because of their actions. Drake is the face of rap with out drake rap would be dead.

  • NATE

Eazy E was one of the few rappers that actually was a gangsta. It wasnt really his rapping skills that made him respected he just kept it real for the image of gangsta rap. He also brought attention for other gangsta rappers to be known including Bone Thugs.

    • Anonymous

he was a dope rapper though. he didn't write his shit, but his cadence and delivery were one of a kind.

  • RealTalk213

he doesn't get as much glory because he wasn't as talented. he doesn't have a classic album/s like biggie and pac and he wasn't as enjoyable to listen to, not to mention that he didn't write a lot of his stuff...

    • RealTalk213

Kelly Park... I'm fake? Because I am stating my opinion? You are the one being an internet gangster saying 'fuck all u'.. lol.. Grow up. I didn't say he didn't assist in the creation of gangsta rap. In terms of musical output though, he ain't anywhere near the level of what Big and Pac created while they were living on this planet. And just because someone was 'real' means you elevate them to legend status??? Okay then. And how real are you if you don't even write your own rhymes? Especially in a genre like gangsta rap.. I'd say that is the opposite of real to be honest. Take a lap around Kelly Park while you ponder this.

    • Anonymous

he was a good rapper. he didn't write his shit, but he does more w/ it than dre or diddy ever were able to.

    • KELLY PARK

eh dumbshit , he done created the gangsta rap genre. everybody knows that Eazy wasnt all that lyrically talented but he was REAL, funny for a guy called realtalk not being ablre to recognize REAL which means u is fake and a bitch. We love Eazy cus hes a real nigga like Billy Danze and Lil Fame, Bumpy Knuckles etc. Fuck all u studio gangster bitches and fuck u realtalk213, fake ass lil bitch. R.I.P. Eazy E KELLYPARKCRIP4LIFE

FIRST AND FOREMOST....at the beggining ice cube wrote all NWA lyrics,dre/yella was the producer..eazy e handled the bussiness...mc ren i dont know what the fuck he did...anyways...after theyre break up everyone wrote theyre raps...including ice cube, eazy e and mc ren...dre never wrote his shit...always he got it from ghost writers....so how can you say DRE DAY can even fuck with eazy e?eazy e wasnt tryin to be lyrical...he isnt considered a MC to be real...he was a rapper...he just wanted to express him self...by saying FUCK THIS AND FUCK THAT...majority of west coast rappers dont try to be lyrical but as much gangsta as they can..thats what eazy e was doin.....ice cube took it on another level and went to NY for beats thats why he is considered one of the best from the west....and eazy e didnt die from AIDS...like B.G. said in a interview you get symptoms from that a year before you die...eazy e was absolutely fine....im sure SUGE KNIGHT BITCH HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT...yall keep being brainwashed dumb fucks

    • Jon

MC Ren did some writing and he said that Dre did a little writing for the 2nd N.W.A album. Why are you discrediting The D.O.C. by not mentioning his contribution? He did most of the writing along with Ice Cube. Arguably the greatest posse track ever was "The Grand Finale" with The D.O.C. writing Eazy's verse. It's your opinion about how great Eazy was and how Dre ain't shit but remember Eazy's first song: Boyz-n-Da-Hood. Who taught him how to rap on that beat? Dr. Dre.

    • Anonymous

hahahahahaha i got weak as hell wen he said he aint know wat the hell mc ren did...... he did the writin too

I always thought it was crazy how Daz called Eazy a "Buster ass HIV having motherfucker" in one of Snoop's Doggstyle skits and then Eazy dies of AIDS and no one knew he had it.

  • Anonymous

It's on dr dre 187 was a classic ep, that album was the shit

  • AP

RIP Eazy, but he sucked ass as a rapper.

  • Cold Hard Truth

Maybe it's because he didnt write his own shit? Him dying of Aids has nothing to do with anything.

  • Anonymous

if he was remembered for something along the lines of juicy or keep ya head up and not real muhfucking g'z then maybe. its the truth, as much as it may piss you off, eazy was a straight up gangsta rapper.

  • stalky

"real recognized real.... Dre was a studio gangsta...he might have beat eazy on the radio and media front but real G's sided with Eazy" He beat Eazy in life. Worth over a $100 mill and still going strong. Hasn't dropped Detox in 10 years, yet the slightest mention of it and the hip hop community is captivated. Whoever these real g's are you're referring to, believe me wanksta, they'd side with the dude making ridiculous cash, and with past hit albums to back it all up.

Eazy-E's death is a conspiracy. No one contracts the AIDS virus and dies in less than 3-6 months. Someone injected AIDS via a needle most likely and he died from that injection. No one else in his life was affected by the virus... The U.S. government saw how much power this little hustler off the street had gained- worldwide success. They couldn't let him change the world anymore than he had. E was a true gangster- one of the last trues. RIP.

  • Art Brooks

Dying from AIDS is looked at in a negative way (even from other diseases such as cancer).

  • Greatest Rapper Never

It really is pathetic that rappers' legacies are compared by who died better. To die young is the worst thing that can happen to somebody so I'd say their legacies are all fucked because they could have done so much more. Well, maybe not Tupac, he'll be releasing new shit forever.

Theres actually still about 100-150 pac tracks in the vault but because of the modern era were living in Afeni got those heavily protected so dont expect a lot of leaks for a while.

    • Anonymous

it seemed like that 10 - 15 years ago but i think 2pac's unreleased stash has pretty much run out already

  • Anonymous

One of the first black rap artist to own his own record label with money he made off the streets.. Let's be real Eazy was the only nwa member putting in work on the streets and that's a fact.. The nigga did have some ghost writers but he did write some of his shit and that has been said, ice cube even said he was starting to help write stuff with nwa as time went on.. Eazy started a lot of this shit that was his money that got nwa started he the one who gave nwa that image...

  • Anonymous

I respect Eazy E but what kinda legacy? Dude was wack as a mc.

    • Anonymous

lol, he was a wack writer but he was dope on the mic. ya'll is confused.

    • Anonymous

ummm...he's the God Father of Gangsta Rap... I think that's a pretty big legacy

    • Anonymous

      ^ Word real shit

    • Greatest Rapper Never

His legacy is just that, gangsters coming off the street to tell their thug life stories. He basically laid the blueprint for guys like Birdman and Gucci Mane. Didn't matter that he wasn't technically the best rapper, but at least he was credible with what he was saying and had the image to go with it. His legacy is more about hustling than being an mc.

  • Tara

RIP to Easy, Bone need DJ Uneek back in there life's...he gave them all their classics. Checkout thegrandreport, they have some good stuff on there too

  • Anonymous

Eazy didnt die from aids. Back everybody went in raw none of his bitches had aids none of the kids none of the homies. Besides you don't get aids and then suddenly die.

  • Fresh 2 Def

easy-e dead? when did this happen... what a sad day for real hip hop.... i think we should all stop commenting for the day out of respect. ya bish?

  • Anonymous

Dre destroying him with that song and video is what hurt Eazy E's legacy. Nobody liked him after that, and his career could go nowhere but down.

  • Hopsin

...or it's because he didnt really write his own shit like a real emcee?hmm..I guess we can just blame it on aids.
