Just in case fans were expecting lyricism on French Montana’s upcoming release Excuse My French, the Bad Boy emcee has disappointing news.

“Obviously, I don’t be trying to get lyrical,” said French in an interview with Xclusives Zone. “It’s not a secret. I just make music. I love the feeling.”

French continued, explaining that he simply writes what he feels at the time, and believes that approach will make him more relatable. “I wake up feeling fucked up, I’ll make a fucked up song. I will go through one thing that somebody else will go through and just be like, yo, my fans will grow to love me, ‘He’s going through what I’m going through.’ I feel like that’s how you get the core audience.”

“That’s why I feel like my shit is the best because it’s my life,” he added. “I’m not perpetrating, I’m not saying shit to sound good, I found a way to make my life and my music and people love it.”

French Montana’s Excuse My French drops on May 21, with features from Scarface, Birdman, Max B, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Rick Ross.
