Yesterday (March 27th), it was revealed that TDE rappers ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul would join a handful of other artists including Action Bronson and Trinidad Jame$ as XXL magazine’s 2013 Freshman Class. ScHoolboy Q was one of the first to offer up his thoughts on his placement on the list while speaking with MTV personality Sway during his appearance on Rap Fix Live.

“Yeah, I should have been on it last year and the year before that. I’m on there. It’s cool,” Q revealed in a video posted on YouHeardThatNew.com.

The TDE spitter also gave fans an update on his upcoming studio album, which he says is done and currently undergoing the evaluation process.

“It’s honestly really done. I’m just putting pieces together,” said ScHoolboy Q. “Making sure it sounds right. You know what I’m saying? But when I say ‘done’ that doesn’t mean that another song can’t knock another song off. So I’m evaluating the album now. I’m just sitting back. I’m not doing too much recording right now unless it’s the record record.”

ScHoolboy Q has yet to provide any other details on the album, which will serve as his first major label-backed studio album.
