Hailing from a family with a deep musical history, his cousin is Detroit beatsmith/emcee Black Milk, Michigan rapper Nametag is hoping to make a little history of his own with his forthcoming For Namesake LP and the project’s first music video.

Released earlier today (March 15th), the music video for the self-produced “Hookless” serves as a small sample of what can be expected on Nametag’s LP.

Due out on April 16th, For Namesake will feature appearances from a number of Motor City notables including Black Milk, Miz Korona, and Guilty Simpson.

The LP will serve as yet another addition to Nametag’s growing catalog, which includes mixtapes, EPs and a full length album on top of appearances on projects from both Black Milk and Slum Village.
