50 Cent hit the nail on the head with his latest single “We Up” featuring Kendrick Lamar and Kidd Kidd, scoring the most popular song on HipHopDX this week. Meanwhile, J. Cole held on strong with his new joint “Power Trip” featuring Miguel. The rest of the list is noticeably varied. Drake hangs in with “Started From the Bottom,” while Mystikal scores two placements: one with “Mamma Cry” and another with “Fly Rich” alongside Future, Tyga and Meek Mill. Crooked I’s “Minority Report” was a hit, while Ghostface Killah’s new single “The Rise of the Ghostface Killah” struck a chord, heating up listeners for his upcoming album with Adrian Younge, Twelve Reasons to Die.

50 Cent Returns With “We Up” Featuring Kendrick Lamar & Kidd Kidd

50 Cent is hot on the comeback trail after releasing a string of singles that failed to make a mark. This week, he dropped his Kendrick Lamar and Kidd Kidd-featuring track “We Up” and its accompanying video, which features the trio looking dapper in formal attire. Even though Fif has finally locked in a potential hit, his oft-delayed album Street King Immortal is still without a release date. A few weeks back, Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg said that Shady Records hoped to release the LP in the first-half of 2013. It’s possible that his latest track could net him a solid street date.

Mystikal Forges Comeback, Releases “Mamma Cry” & “Fly Rich”

Mystikal is back in action this week. The YMCMB rapper, who spent three months in jail last year following a domestic dispute, scored a pair of popular songs including a solo single “Mamma Cry” and a track with Future, Tyga and Meek Mill titled “Fly Rich.” The Southern rapper recently gave an interview where he revealed that his first album in over 12 years, Original, will release in June. “The sound that’s prominent on the radio, and on hit records now, all that sound the same. I don’t want all my hits to sound like that. I’m writing songs to perform, to entertain,” he explained. “And when I’m really trying to get inspired, I go backwards and I just rap.”
