Noah "40" Shebib Says It's "Too Early To Make A Call" On When Drake's Third Album Will Be Finished

Producer Noah "40" Shebib gives a progress report on Drake's upcoming third album.

Drake unexpectedly released his new single "Started From the Bottom" last weekend when it was originally intended to drop on the night of the Grammy Awards.

While the track suggested that the wheels are in motion on Drizzy's upcoming third album, longtime collaborator Noah "40" Shebib spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about progress on the LP, stating that he's unsure of how far along they are on the project and that the shape of it depends on their evolving ideas.

"I don’t know, I don’t know. Every day it changes. That’s tough," he said. "That’s a hard thing to say. It depends. Because you know we work, and we have ideas and we have songs but as we create more songs, the shape of the album will change and the progression of it will change. As much as we might be sure that we’re on a path and we’re… We’re sort of working sequentially right now. We feel like we have 1, 2, 3, you know we’re going 4, 5, 6. That’s how we’re moving forward, in order of the actual playlist of the album. But as we make more music that fits in other places, it will change and adjust as far as how many songs, or how far we’re going to go so it’s yet to be discovered. We’re still too early to make a call about whether or not we’re half done or a quarter done or 75 percent done. I mean, it could be any of the above."

The YMCMB rapper previously spoke on what he expects to create with his third album, which serves as the follow up to Take Care and Thank Me Later. “[There's] nothing necessarily for me to step up and say I want to fight for," he said, "but there is a way for me to give moments to the world, and to bear my emotions and hope that I'm remembered as that guy who was able to bring people together. I want to be that guy. I want to bring people together."

The album will be shit. 40's one of the worst producers ever with his boring ambience beats and Drake is a mediorcre rapper/shit singer. These two can go fuck each other and die for all I care.

This album is going to be another classic. Drake has the best bars of any rapper out right now. He always comes correct. And he stays true to himself and never pretends to be something he's not. Pusha T, Dream, Chris Brown, Common and all of the other YMCMB haters will be begging for Mercy after this album drops. YMCMB-4-LIFE.

You forgot to add #SWAG, but I'm not going to feed you because that was mediocre trolling at the best. Please take your time and impress us with further comment-baits, unless you have nothing else under your belt. In worst case, literally. Our hopes are so high, that another disappointment would be almost a personal offence from you.
