Ryan Leslie Ordered To Pay Additional $180,000 In Stolen Laptop Case

Ryan Leslie has been told to tack on to his $1 million reward for the recovery of his stolen laptop.

Ryan Leslie has been ordered to add $180,000 in interest to the $1 million reward for the recovery of his stolen laptop.

According to ABC News, a judge ruled that the singer had to pay more money to a German man named Armin Augstein for finding his laptop in a forest. Leslie's backpack, which contained his laptop, external hard drive, jewelry and cash, was stolen following a performance in Cologne, Germany in 2010. He initally offered a $20,000 reward but bumped it up to $1 million shortly after.

"He made a second reward video and offered $1 million for just the intellectual property on the external hard drive and computer, the session files," said his attorney David DeStefano. "They're different from just an MP3, MP3s are nothing for a producer or a studio engineer, they can't do anything with them. They need the session files. These were his compositions."

Augstein reportedly found the laptop in a forest and returned it after learning of the reward. Leslie refused to pay the sum because his files had been corrupted, but in November, a judge ordered him to make good on his promise.

DeStefano and Leslie did not contend the motion for $180,000 because they plan to appeal the entire decision.

But if he already let it be known that $1mil was for the session files, and he can't access them files, it should be all bets off. At MOST he should only have to come up off that original 20k reward for gettin the computer back, but that's it.

NOT TRYING TO ARGUE ABOUT WHO HAS MORE MONEY...BUT 40 HAS HAD WAAAY MORE SUCCESSFUL SONGS THAN RYAN LESLIE. I USED TO LIKE RYAN, BUT THEN HE TOOK FOREVER TO RELEASE MUSIC, BECAME A CORNY RAPPER, AND STARTED ACTING LIKE A FUCKING SNOB... GOING TO HARVARD HELPS BUT DOESN'T GUARANTEE ANYTHING. I WENT TO IU AND HAVE PPL REPORTING TO ME THAT WENT TO CORNELL (IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL).

just cause a person went to harvard does not make them more skilled by default. plus he wasnt even there for music. if he has millions its definitely not from selling records and touring. his album came and went to quote big l. so your point is moot.

Aside from going to Harvard he`s a musical prodigy. He's been earning money from music for over 18 yrs. Comparing him to 40 is nonsensical. If you`d said Rodney Jerkins I would have agreed

Dumbest comment I've ever read on here

Ryan Leslie was pretty dumb for making a 1 million dollar reward like that. He had to have known that the people who stole it would just bring it back with a story about finding it. However, it's also a shame that somebody can steal something from you and possibly sue you to collect reward money. Are you telling me that somebody stole his property with computers and jewelry and just LEFT it in the woods for this guy to find? No, I highly doubt that. This guy is connected to this robbery in 1 way or another and it's a shame the judge doesn't care.
