Finally, Rise-Ascend and Direction are spearheading a new petition to stop the Chinese government’s practice of organ harvesting, and the duo is looking for the Hip Hop community’s support.

The duo has launched a new petition through the official White House website to stop the Chinese government’s practice using imprisoned Fulan Gong practitioners as living organ donors. The petition requires at least 25,000 signatures before the White House officially responds to it.

“The vicious practice of organ harvesting taking place in China today is certainly a crime against humanity and something that everyone should be aware of,” Rise-Ascend explained in an exclusive statement to DX. “That said, I don’t think many people would underestimate the power of the youth’s voice and the global hip-hop communities potential to quickly raise awareness about this important issue. I only hope that we can stand up as one and show the world that the killing of innocent people and the selling of their internal organs on the black market is something that our generation will absolutely not tolerate. This is in fact something that can save lives.”

Listeners can sign the petition over at the White House’s website.
