Though Drake was present, and may have even been a major player in a nightclub brawl with Chris Brown, he believes he isn’t responsible for the bad publicity W.i.P. nightclub has endured.

TMZ reports that Drake has asked a judge to dimiss the case, even if the bottle-based ballistics began when Drizzy and Chris Brown allegedly threw bottles at one another.

To support his argument, Drake says that the New York Times has described the club as having “a history of violence and other problems.”

Additionally, the night club was apparently shut down in 2011 by the NYPD, and previously had its liquor license suspended due to “a string of violent incidents.”
