Nicki Minaj Says Her Third Album Will Be A Continuation Of "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up"

Nicki Minaj also explains why she doesn't have anyone on her list for a collaboration.

Nicki Minaj didn't strike chart gold with the release of her repackaged Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up, selling a combined 36,000 copies of the original pressing and the re-release and landing at No. 26 on the charts.

But Nicki's already on to the next one. During an interview with Fuse, the Harajuku Barbie said that her third album will be a "continuation" of The Re-Up, stating that she feels that she struck a chord and wants to expand on what she's already accomplished, "A continuation of the Re-Up with a lot more. I have a lot more to say," she said. "But production-wise, I like where the Re-Up went. I want to continue down that path and add onto that musically."

She also talked about who was on her short list of collaborations, but said that she doesn't actively think about who she wants to duet with. "At this point, it doesn't even matter, to be honest. I've worked with so many amazing people and thank them again for giving me the opportunity. I feel like at this point, it doesn't matter. I feel like whoever I'm meant to work with, I'll work with them. It's out of my hands, it's out of my control now in terms of who I want to work with. I think it's just about the right time and the right chemistry."

At the risk of sounding like the annoying stan a lot of you are reaching. I'll be the first to say Nicki's quality of music hasn't been the best lately but her career is far from over. As for "Pink Friday" it's her brand. Just like Wayne's "The Carter" series, not that hard to figure out. The additional track on the Re-up are in fact VERY Hip Hop. Freedom, Up in Flames, High School. Just to name a few. Sadly, many won't give it a chance bc everyone's so convinced that she's sold out when in reality she's doing nothing different than what Lauryn Hill did, just on a Pop landscape. It's not that Nicki's fallen off. She's an entertainer first. She can afford the luxury to bullshit with costumes & cotton candy hair, because she knows when to bring out the black wig & spit a hot 16. Folks are just so closed minded these days.

    That's Certainly Creative Nicki.

  • JohnBoy

She look like a young Dolly Parton in the pic above.

  • Donald Passman

Once again this a very bad business decision. People are once again going to think that this the same album, with a few remixes and 2 or 3 new tracks. Her label needs to stop letting her name these albums, because it's going to ruin her career.

  • GBtha G

Seriously talkin & given tha opportunity, I'd smash the ass of dat muthafucka n.minaj a.k.a stpid ho.she looks very attractive.

Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded the Re-up and the Flip

  • michigan

Nicki Minaj is wack as hell and now its showing in the charts. her 3rd album is an official flop. only 36,000 units sold and no retailers wanted to carry it and she is dropping from a major label? damn lol her career is over. you would think she would try to switch it up yet she decides shes coming with part 4 of pink friday. lmao!

    • Anonymous

Agreed with Michigan on the fact you do not re-issue just your second album. Thats fucking ridiculous. Re-issuing albums ten years deep into creating studio albums is completely different. What the fuck does this bitch expect? And why did she do it in the first place instead of putting the new songs toward her next album as it has basically the same name anyways.

    • michigan

not reaching you will see when her next album flops. Who the fuck re issues a cd when you have only dropped your 2nd album? every song sounds the same she talks about the same shit. look at hip hop history any artist who wasnt diverse on the mic fell off after they put out a couple albums. Watch nude photos of her are gonna pop up on the net once she cant get her buzz back around the time her next album drops.

A reissue is not considered a new studio album so this is still the 2nd one. And although I do not particularly care for her music, her career is far from over. You're reaching.

  • steviebee82

Leave it alone. Don't you think you reloaded that Pink Friday into the ground enough. Come with something new. That's why Walmart and Target doesn't want to distribute it. Don't blame them. Blame your lack of creativity to give your "fans" something new.

"Why do you think she is a judge on American Idol? That is where all washed up musicians go..." Mariah Carrey, Steven Tyler, and Keith Urban are hardly washed up. Maybe you meant to say you'd like to wash their dishes for minimum wage.

  • Damn

Nicki is falling off. White people getting tired of her shit. Why do you think she is a judge on American Idol? That is where all washed up musicians go... Nicki did it right on her first album. But then bitch releases two straight singles on techno beats that sound exactly the same. She catered to the "Ryan Secrest" crowd too much. They got bored and she lost her urban fans. She needs go back towards her hiphop rots more.

  • jordan

Hey Nicki!! You's a STUPID HOE!!!!!!! BITCH

  • Farrakhan

this bitch is full of self-hate.

She will try to come back to do actual hip hop music once white folks start getting tired of her. Kinda like Eve's case, just wait.

"Damn son the music industry is more than dead" I wouldn't say it's dead. Hip hop has always been about choice, and that's what the market is right now. I bet if more people bought CD's again labels you'd see new albums coming out alot faster.

  • Anonymous

Wow is this what's it's come to uh? Niggas ain't even releasing new material, just rehashes of past shit. Damn son the music industry is more than dead, even classic albums don't get repackaged this much. Can't say I blame the new rappers though or ANY musician coming out in these times, no one buy's their shit anymore. Wait...why do I care?

    • Dadonromam

      The re-up is NEW material.

    • michigan

I agree if most of these rappers came out in the 90's or even early 2000's they wouldnt get any play. So many wack ring tone rappers out now saying the same shit over and over again lol Nas drops people say hes trash now cuz he isnt rapping about strippers, tricking money off, im the don, top gangsta of the world shit lol i thought that nas album was the 2nd best album out this year only behind kendrick lamar. Its all about digital sales now and most people just buy singles instead of the whole album. blame the web for killing the art behind hip hop.
