Upon the release of 50 Cent’s new single “My Life,” featuring Eminem and Adam Levine, the emcee stopped by Carson Daly’s show to talk about it. The founder of G-Unit went on to explain how much Eminem has meant to him, comparing his impact to his grandparents’ and saying he owes his career to Shady. He also went on to explain why his own up and coming artists ended up on his bad side.
“My career wouldn’t even exist, I wouldn’t even be talking to you if it wasn’t for Em,” 50 Cent said. “It’s amazing that later in your life you could find someone that means so much to the comfort in your actual life. My grandparents were that for me before Em.”
As he continued, he was asked about his feud with former G-Unit members. 50 says they wanted to be as big as him, without him around.

“You can offer an artist an opportunity to have the audience that’s interested in you become interested in them. You can let them perform on your stage and work in your music videos and everything but if they want what you have and they can’t quite do that, they gotta establish that on their own,” he shared. “The artists got uncomfortable and felt they wouldn’t be as big as me with me. I never felt, ‘I have to get rid of Em to get big.'”
He continued by saying that beef doesn’t sell.
“Beef doesn’t actually sell records. It creates that barbershop/beauty salon conversation. Hit records sell records.”
