The Top 10 Most Popular Hip Hop Singles The Week Of 10/22/2012

Kendrick Lamar takes over the list this week, as his "Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City" tracks (plus a feature with A$AP Rocky) dominate the Top Singles.

There hasn't been a list this singular since J. Cole's Cole World tracks started leaking. When an artist has a strong fan base of supporters, the proof of their loyalty lies within the ratings. As artists like Kendrick Lamar and Meek Mill embark on what many perceive to be their debut albums, their fans are eager to hear it all. The list this week shows all of that and then some. While a lot of music dropped, the people know what they really wanted to hear. Check out the results below.

Kendrick Lamar Continues to Run Hip Hop

Sounds like a bold statement, right? Well, with the critical acclaim of K-Dot's Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City coupled with the number of times he pops up on the Top Singles list, it sounds pretty accurate. Kendrick ran the list last week and continues in that fashion this week. In at #1 is "Collect Calls," followed by the "Swimming Pools Remix" with the other Black Hippy members (Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, and ScHoolboy Q) at #3. Then "The Heart Pt. 3" at #5 with Ab-Soul and Jay Rock, followed by "Poetic Justice" with Drake at #6. Kendrick even sneaks in A$AP Rocky's "Fuckin' Problem" with Drake and 2 Chainz at #4, and then closes out the list at #10 with his freestyle from Big Boy's Neighborhood.

Meek Mill's Dreams Come True While Kanye West Still Has a White Dress

On October 30th, Meek Mill will drop his long-awaited Dreams and Nightmares. While Kendrick Lamar ran the list this week, Meek is next in line with the most cuts, as his "Dreams and Nightmares Intro" enters in at #2, followed by "Tony's Story Pt. 2" at #9. Kanye West is still holding on, as "White Dress" remains on the list, this week at #8. The remaining track not yet mentioned comes from Vinnie Paz, whose "Razor Gloves" with R.A. the Rugged Man checks in at #7.

  • Realtalk

So this kendrick is what u fools on the net have been been dickridin hypin up huh? Listen, real talk, no hating, but I listened to his whole fuckin album dont understand what is so special about it?? Im tired of u underground cats that think you know what "real hip hop" is, you dont know shit. You think just cuz a rapper is lyrically versatile that automatically equates into being GREAT, when in fact that is far from the truth. The over all album was medicore at best!! Beats suck, subject matter terrible, hooks are garbage. Kendrick is mad overhyped. I didnt know you could have wack beats, wack hooks, wack subject matter, and as long as you are versatile lyrically than that makes you a GREAT over-all artist? This dude has no charisma in his songs , Even as far as being "lyrical" goes there is huge list of dudes that can out rhyme this dude. He sounds very monotone, and the same every single song. SMH. This guy is more for the underground lyrical spiritual type of listeners, there is a reason why nobody listens to underground rapper, because only wiggers and wannabes listen to that type of shit. Forever the streets will dominate, and u dudes can find every excuse in the book why your fav rapper dont sell. The fact of the matter is nobody wanna hear it, and y'all can stop brushin dudes ego on a mediocre album. All u underground stans can suck my dick, this shit sucks and altho it is a underground success people are makin it out to be a mainstream success the fact is only underground lames are jammin this gay shit. And the nigga looks and sounds gay as fuck, bisexual kermit the frog soundin nigga SMH. Fuck outta overhypin this bullshit up there with Bruce Springsteen and shit, fuck outta lmao!!

@RealTalk I understand what he's saying about Kendrick's voice and delivery on this album. Like at Times during Good Kid...I was like his voice is annoying but it was because of the way they mixed the vocals. But at second listen...they were supposed sound like that. If you are not listening to the content and flicking thru songs then you will feel like that, but if listened to the way he a story,in a theme..then you would probably like it more madd rapper. I think is very's better than a lot of shit that's out now because it has a message,a theme, a purpose..not just mixtape banging ass know rappers used to do that before they rapped bout money and bitchez, and molly...

RUN HIP HOP? I dont think thats accurate, he's topping the hip hop charts and shii, But RUN hip hop nah. Kendrick is dope as fuck, possibly one of the best of these times, He definitely has the potential to run hip hop, he aint fuckin with Lupe though, these guys are changing what these other wack rappers have made the image of hip hop to be.making a movement just what we need in our lives. because we do need hip hop to survive. dont debate that.
