Kanye West is reportedly at work on the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation Cruel Summer, tentatively titled Cruel Winter. While Q-Tip was the first to break the news, Pusha T recently spoke with Semtex about the possibility of the album, saying that the LP is being decided by Tip and ‘Ye and that he would contribute more verses if they asked.

Cruel Winter, man, I don’t know. I know there are other records. I don’t personally know about Cruel Winter,” he said. “That’s a Q-Tip/Kanye thing. Q-Tip and Kanye, they have conversations, I’m not made privy to those conversations. I come in, do my verses and I’m out. They have the collective sit-downs, war of the minds shit like that. He asked me to talk on it. I’m not sure. I don’t know. If ‘Ye decides to do something like that, then I’m sure he has material and if he needs more, he knows one phone he can call and we can do that. But I’m not sure.”

He also said that he initially recorded 20 verses for Cruel Summer but that some didn’t make the final cut because they didn’t fit the aesthetic. Pusha also noted that he had a song called “Trash Bags” with Common and Big Sean that was left on the cutting room floor.

“I know that I myself recorded 20 verses. So that means… I don’t know how many songs are on Cruel Summer now, but just understand… There are so many records you guys haven’t heard yet. I’ve got records where Common – and this is just the energy of the whole thing – me and Sean will be working on a record called ‘Trash Bags’ about some strip club shit, and Common, he’ll come into the session like, ‘That’s hot! I want to get on that!’ Totally not Common’s vein normally, but he was adamant about getting on it. He gets on the track, murks it, doesn’t make Cruel Summer. Just the theme, content, whatever it was.”
